Flow has announced the permanent destruction of 87.4 billion counterfeit FLOW tokens, marking the completion of the technical resolution of the security incident that occurred on December 27, 2025. According to Foresight News, the destruction was executed on-chain by the community governance committee, ensuring that all seized counterfeit assets are permanently removed from circulation. This aligns with the independent recovery plan disclosed in the previous technical review.
Verification nodes deployed security patches within 24 hours of the incident, and the network has continued to operate normally since then. Additional security measures have been introduced at the protocol level. Network operation data indicates that the Flow network has returned to full health, processing over 3 million transactions in the past week, with core DeFi protocols functioning normally.
With the completion of security repairs, Flow plans to focus on ecosystem expansion and product development moving forward.
