A member of the prediction market platform Polymarket, known as shampoo, has accused rival Kalshi of inflating its esports trading volume through data manipulation. According to ChainCatcher, shampoo claimed on social media that Kalshi artificially increased its trading volume by approximately $1.7 billion by adding a generalized 'esports' category. In reality, the actual esports trading volume is around $63 million, which is less than 10% of Polymarket's esports trading volume.

Additionally, Kalshi is alleged to have counted the CS market twice by labeling it as both CS:GO and CS2.

Shampoo stated on social media that users can verify this situation by examining the API data in network requests.
