Odaily Threshold Network released a report on October 9 that it received an ImmuneFi report saying that the L2 WormholeGateway contract has serious vulnerabilities. Specifically, the report states that a small amount of L1 $TBTC$ tokens can be used to $MINT$ an unlimited number of L2 tBTC tokens on four L2 chains ($ARBITRUM$, $BASE$, $OPTIMISM$, $POLYGON$) integrated with the tBTC V2 system. After investigation, Threshold Network confirmed that the report was valid. A patch was then developed and used to upgrade the vulnerable contract instances.
