Solana Activates SIMD-0256 Proposal, Increasing Block Size to 60M CUs
The SIMD-0256 proposal to increase Solana’s block size limit to 60 million Compute Units (CU) has been officially activated on mainnet. The limit is expected to increase to 100 million CUs by the end of the year.
Compute Units (CU) are similar to Gas on Ethereum. Increasing the CU limit means larger blocks and higher performance requirements from validating nodes.
