The US is holding at least 198,000 BTC, worth $23.5 billion: Arkham​

According to Arkham, the US government is currently holding at least 198,000 BTC (about $23.5 billion) through various wallet addresses belonging to agencies such as the FBI, DOJ, DEA, and federal prosecutors' offices. This amount of BTC has not moved in the past 4 months.

Specifically, $13.65 billion of BTC was seized from the Bitfinex hack, $8.26 billion from “Individual X” related to the Silk Road case in 2020, and $1.17 billion from James Zhong – another hacker related to Silk Road.

Recent rumors have suggested that the US government has sold 170,000 BTC (~$20 billion), but a response from the US Marshals Service shows that they only hold 28,988 BTC (~$3.4 billion). The remaining funds remain in wallets belonging to other agencies.#AmericaAIActionPlan #BTCvsETH
