What's happening on XRPL right now is worth paying attention to — not for the price narrative, but for the infrastructure layer quietly taking shape.

t54.ai's x402 facilitator went live on Feb 19. The mechanic is fairly clean: AI agent makes a resource request, server fires back HTTP 402 "Payment Required," agent pays in $XRP or $RLUSD , settles on-chain, gets the resource. No accounts, no API keys. Just a signed transaction and a ledger entry.

Coinbase originally built x402 as an open standard back in May 2025. BNB Chain adopted it. Now XRPL is in. What's interesting to me is the timing — Dubai Land Department launched Prypco Mint, its blockchain real estate platform, on XRPL the very next day. Two completely different use cases, same ledger, same week.

XRPL's throughput and low-fee model have always made it a natural fit for high-volume, low-value transactions. Machine payments might be where that actually gets stress-tested at scale.

Worth watching how many x402-compatible services route to XRPL vs Base or BNB in the next few months.
