This is a significant hike, driven by rising global oil prices amid tensions in the Middle East. The government announced the new rates on April 2, 2026, and they apply uniformly across Pakistan, including in Peshawar (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). 
Prices are usually reviewed fortnightly by OGRA and the Ministry of Energy, based on international crude rates, exchange rates, and taxes (including petroleum levy). No immediate further change is confirmed, but global factors could influence the next review around mid-April.
