I did not learn about @Pixels via hype or trending lists, in fact, it was on my radar when I was researching GameFi projects that have yet to transition to token investment and into a live user loop. Majority of projects look nice on chart but crumble when you zoom in to the retention and actual utility. It was at that point that I started to notice PIXEL
The difference between the ecosystem of the game and the staking is the naturalness with which the ecosystem integrates gameplay and staking at Pixels. It does not seem to be imposed or too financialized. Unlike players cultivating rewards and leaving, $PIXEL is designed in such a manner that it makes them want to reinvest in the game. The loop of earn, stake, upgrade, repeat, gives a feeling of progression which most Web3 games lack.
The other thing that attracted me was the way the ecosystem known as the stacked ecosystem continues to grow. It is not only about being in possession of tokens but it is being involved. Both land and resources, as well as in-game choices, are a part of the experience, not a speculative asset, like $PIXEL is embedded in the game.
In a bigger sense, this is what GameFi requires at the moment systems that are based on consistency, rather than flips. Pixels appears to realize that sustained value lies in loyal players, and not liquidity surges. This is why I have begun to listen more attentively here.
I am still in the early stages of my research, but the system, incentives to players, and the overall direction make $PIXEL one of the more interesting ecosystems I have encountered in the recent past. Certainly a space to keep an eye on as it develops
