SOL dropped 35%+ over 45 days. We ran 3 DCA bot configs through it.
Here's what happened to each one 👇
❌ Config A — Too conservative:
5% step intervals. Safety orders never triggered.
Bot sat idle while SOL bled.
Ended up holding a single base order underwater.
❌ Config B — Too aggressive:
1.2% steps. 19 safety orders.
Fully deployed in 10 days.
No capital left when the real bottom came.
✅ Config C — Optimized:
3.5% steps + 1.15x volume multiplier + 2.5% TP
Orders compounded deeper as the drawdown extended.
Average entry kept tracking down with the market.
Relief bounce triggered TP. Exited in profit.
Key insight:
Flat-size bots get trapped early or miss the bottom entirely.
A volume multiplier lets the bot "front-load" towards the real low — where the edge actually is.
Same 5,000 USDT. Same SOL. Same 45-day bleed.
The config was the only variable.
Backtest before you deploy. The slow bleed is the hardest market to survive — and the easiest to prepare for.
