I used to think privacy in model apps was only about hiding prompts.

Now I think that is the easy part.

The real question starts after the answer works.

What touched the data?

Who executed it?

Can anyone prove the route?

Who paid for the call?

What gets recorded?

That is where @OpenGradient becomes more interesting to me.

It does not treat privacy, execution, proof, verification and cost as one messy promise inside a trusted server.

It separates them.

Data moves first.

The request is encrypted on the device, so the raw prompt is not exposed while moving through the stack.

Then routing.

OHTTP separates identity from content.

The relay can see where traffic came from, but it only forwards sealed bytes.

The TEE gateway can open the request inside an attested enclave, but it does not receive the user’s original IP.

No single layer is meant to hold the full picture.

Then execution.

The model call runs through the protected path without forcing the user to wait for blockchain consensus before seeing the answer.

Then proof.

The point is not just privacy.

The point is evidence that the protected path was used.

Attestation turns a claim into something checkable.

Verification stays separate from execution because forcing validators to rerun heavy model calls would break the cost model.

So the response can return quickly.

The proof can settle afterward.

That split matters.

Execution is for speed.

Proof is for accountability.

Settlement is for auditability.

Cost is for scale.

With x402, a model call becomes a paid HTTP event.

OPG handles the LLM inference payment on Base, while OpenGradient handles node registration, inference execution, proof settlement and verification through its own network.

So the design is not just a privacy app.

It is a constraint map.

Do not expose the user.

Do not slow down the answer.

Do not trust the operator blindly.

Do not make every validator repeat GPU work.

Do not leave payment outside the machine flow.

That is why OPG feels important here.
