A Rajput princess, a mystic poet, and a revolutionary saint, she is celebrated for her unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna. Her life is a testament to the power of faith over social norms and royal expectations.


Early Life and Divine Calling


​Born in Kudki, Rajasthan, Meera’s spiritual journey began in early childhood. Legend says that upon seeing a wedding procession, a young Meera asked her mother, "Who will be my bridegroom?" Her mother playfully pointed to an idol of Lord Krishna and said, "Girdhar Gopal is your bridegroom." Meera took this to heart and dedicated her entire soul to Him from that moment on.


The Royal Conflict


​Meera was married to Prince Bhoj Raj of Mewar for political reasons. However, she never considered herself a worldly wife. She spent her days in the temple, dancing and singing for Krishna, and conversing with common devotees and saints—acts that were considered scandalous for a Queen of that era.
