​I was recently thinking about how we define users in the crypto space. For years, users have always been humans. But as we move toward 2026, a new type of user is emerging: the autonomous machine. I started looking into Fabric Protocol again and I realized we are looking at a fundamental shift in how physical AI operates.

The Identity Crisis of Robots

The biggest hurdle for robotics today isn't just power or movement, it is identity. In our current world, a delivery drone or a factory robot is just an object owned by a company. It has no way to prove its work or manage its own resources. If a robot performs a service, how does it get paid directly without a human middleman?

However, the progress in robotics research and decentralized systems is moving faster than most people realize. Projects working on the Physical Layer like Fabric are positioning themselves for the moment when these two worlds finally collide.
