Today, I want to take you behind the scenes of my recent Short position on ATOMUSDT Perpetual, sharing the exact numbers, the psychology, and the risk management rules I used to turn a floating loss into a winning trade.
​1️⃣ The Technical Setup & Entry Strategy
​Looking at the market momentum, I spotted an overhead resistance level for $ATOM.
​Trading Pair: ATOMUSDT Perpetual
​Position Direction: Short (S) 🔴
​Leverage Type: Isolated 30x
​My Entry Price: 1.999 USDT
​Using 30x Leverage means even a small price movement can result in big percentage changes. That's why I chose Isolated Margin with a small initial size (5.994 USDT) to cap my maximum risk.

​Right after entry, the market did what it often does—it tested my patience. The price pushed slightly upwards against my short:

​Don't Over-leverage Your Capital: Notice that my actual Margin used was only 0.30 USDT. High leverage (30x) is fine ONLY if your position size is small compared to your total wallet balance.
