Cipolaro noted that this could happen via Executive Order, citing a draft idea circulated by a Bitcoin advocacy group.The reserve could draw from the $18.3 billion worth of confiscated Bitcoin held by the U.S. government.While this would prevent the government from becoming a major Bitcoin seller, Cipolaro emphasized it wouldn’t create incremental demand for the cryptocurrency.Optimism for Crypto-Friendly AppointmentsCipolaro expressed optimism about Trump’s picks for the Treasury, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and digital assets advisor, describing them as positive for the crypto sector. Durante a Cúpula do BRICS de 2024, realizada na cidade russa de Kazan, foi decidido pelos membros que se estabeleceria essa nova categoria de adesão para países que queiram entrar no grupo multilateral.
Ao todo, 13 países foram convidados para integrar o posto de país parceiro do BRICS.
Segundo o assessor do presidente russo para assuntos internacionais, Yuri Ushakov, nove já completaram o processo de adesão e se tornaram parceiros do BRICS em 1º de janeiro: Belarus, Bolívia, Indonésia, Cazaquistão, Tailândia, Cuba, Uganda, Malásia e Uzbequistão.
Ao programa, Cassio Zen, doutor em direito internacional pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e pesquisador do Grupo de Estudos sobre os BRICS (GEBRICS), destacou que nos últimos anos o grupo de países se estabeleceu como um local onde potências regionais conseguem superar suas diferenças.
"É histórico a gente pensar que essa expansão do BRICS incluiu países que são rivais entre si e que agora estão juntos nessa parceria que é significativa para o mundo hoje."
