Maruti Suzuki has launched its first global electric SUV, the e-VITARA, manufactured in India and ready for export to over 100 countries. The e-VITARA offers two battery options: a 49 kWh pack with 143 hp and a 61 kWh pack with 173 hp, delivering up to 500 km range on a single charge. Key features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Level-2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, seven airbags, ventilated front seats, and sliding reclining rear seats. Priced around Rs 20 lakh, the e-VITARA targets the growing electric SUV market alongside competitors like Hyundai Creta EV and MG ZS EV. This launch marks a major step in India's emergence as a global EV manufacturing hub, supported by local battery electrode production enhancing supply chain resilience.
