Elon Musk unveiled a new video of Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot performing martial arts, showing off the company's growing ambitions in robotics and artificial intelligence.
The short clip, posted on X, showed Optimus mimicking an instructor's Kung Fu moves in what looked like a choreographed sparring routine. Musk confirmed the robot wasn't being remotely controlled, replying to a user that it was "AI, not tele-operated."
The video quickly drew attention from both fans and critics.
Some praised the progress, while others questioned how autonomous the movements truly were. Musk has previously said that Optimus could become Tesla's most valuable product line, potentially representing more than 80% of the company's future value.
The demonstration came just after Tesla reported stronger-than-expected Q3 2025 delivery numbers, with over 497,000 vehicles shipped. Despite the solid quarter, analysts like Ross Gerber warned of potential challenges as Tesla balances its automotive and AI efforts.
Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives remains bullish, raising his price target for Tesla to $600, citing the company's leadership in robotics and automation.
Still, the division faces hurdles. Tesla's head of Optimus AI, Ashish Kumar, recently departed to join Meta, raising questions about how the company will maintain momentum in its robotics program.
