The outcome was a modest but meaningful gain. More importantly, it gave me confidence in my system. I’m now more focused on building and refining strategies, not just chasing signals. Backtesting might not be glamorous, but it’s the foundation of consistency in trading. If your system doesn’t work historically, it won’t work live. I learned that the hard way—but I’m glad I did.
