The "DarkSword" Threat
Disclosed in March 2026, this is a highly sophisticated "full-chain" exploit that affects devices running iOS 18.4 through 18.7.
It uses six different vulnerabilities to bypass security. It can be triggered simply by visiting a compromised website in Safari—no "clicks" or downloads are required from you.
Crypto Impact: Once inside, the malware scans your device for files related to popular crypto apps like MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase, Ledger, and Kraken.
The Goal: It attempts to dump your Keychain database (where passwords and keys are stored) and exfiltrate wallet credentials to build profiles of high-value targets for direct theft.
Critical Updates to Install
Apple has released patches for these vulnerabilities across different generations of devices. You should check for updates in Settings > General > Software Update: Device Category
