Franklin Templeton brings 5 ETFs on-chain with Ondo, pushing the RWA race one step further
✨ Franklin Templeton has partnered with Ondo Finance to tokenize 5 ETFs, marking the first time ETFs managed by the firm have been brought on-chain. What stands out is that this lineup goes beyond U.S. equities and also includes gold and high-yield bonds, showing that the scope of adoption is already becoming much broader.
🌍 This model allows investors to access the products through crypto wallets and trade them almost 24/7, instead of being limited by traditional market hours. For investors in Asia, the Middle East, and regions outside the U.S., this could make access to U.S. financial assets more flexible and practical.
⚖️ Even so, the current structure gives investors economic exposure through an SPV rather than direct ownership of the underlying ETF shares. That means the product opens the door to wider use in DeFi, but it also comes with legal, early-stage liquidity, and smart contract risks.
