UN Secretary-General António Guterres established a dedicated Strait of Hormuz task force as the Middle East conflict risks further escalation. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said a disruption of maritime trade through the strait could trigger a chain reaction in the coming months and affect humanitarian needs and agricultural production.
