Square has started automatically enabling Bitcoin payment acceptance for millions of eligible U.S. small businesses. Bitcoin payments are instantly converted to USD at checkout, so merchants do not hold Bitcoin exposure. Square has waived processing fees on these transactions through the end of 2026.
