Rwanda’s central bank warned that Bybit’s addition of Rwandan franc support for P2P crypto trading does not change the country’s ban on FRW-to-crypto conversion. The National Bank of Rwanda said FRW remains the country’s only legal tender and barred licensed financial institutions from converting the currency into crypto-assets or vice versa. A draft framework moving through the legislature would further restrict crypto use while creating a licensing path for service providers.
