#AppleRemovesBitchatFromChinaAppStore
Bitchat , a decentralized peer to peer messaging App develop by Block CEO Jack Dorsey has been removed from Apple App store in China for allegedly violating it's internet service regulations.
Bitchat has seen it's popularity rise during protest in Madagascar , Uganda, Nepal and Indonesia and Iran in recent months as Government attempts to shutdown regular communication channels and internet access.
The peer to peer encrypted messaging service runs entirely over Bluetooth and mesh networks and operates without an internet connection which could put it at odds with China's Internet censorship prone regime. The CAC argued Bitchat violated Article 3 of it's regulations Governing online services with public opinion and social mobilization capabilities which came in to force in 2018.
