Japan is considering releasing about another 20 days of oil reserves as early as May because prospects for reopening the Strait of Hormuz remain uncertain. Japan relies on the Middle East for about 95% of its oil supply. Japan has already released about 50 days of reserves since March 16 and still holds enough for 230 days.
