Following the acrimonious breakdown or rupture of diplomacy between the US and Iran intermediated or brokered by Pakistan, reactive observers, pedantic quibblers etc are impulsively inferring that it was a debacle. Pakistan is not distancing itself from brokerage or intercession else it will lead to further erosion of estrangement .Leaving the rivals in hostile or alienated position will further exacerbate enmity. Both the US and Iran have to accomodate concessionary compromises on their imperative demands. Disparity of military might is evidenced from realities on the ground. But Iran can't undermine its core demands. The intervention can be deemed as a breakthrough or game-changer.
Neither the US nor Iran shut the door for further dialogue or negotiation. Diplomacy does not embrace fruitlessness or futility of confabulation. At the inchoate stage rival parties adopt hardline or uncompromising positions so that they can bargain or leverage further concessions. Iran had delegated high-level representatives to accentuate its sincerity and earnestness to resolve the painful sacrifices it has been enduring. There's a paradigm shift from confrontational pursuit to diplomacy. The US is in haste to de-escalate the turbulent conflict to put a lid on its unabating drainage of wealth. Diplomatic windows must be open despite the fragility of the situation. The US can't swallow the bitter pill of ignominious defeat despite the rhetoric it rodomontaded or blustered.
