The creator of Solana is Anatoly Yakovenko, a former engineer at Qualcomm. He co-founded Solana in 2017 with Raj Gokal.
Yakovenko introduced a unique concept called Proof of History, which helps Solana achieve extremely fast transaction speeds and low fees—making it one of the top competitors in the blockchain space alongside Ethereum.
Today, Solana is maintained by a global community of developers and the Solana Foundation, rather than being “owned” by a single person.
