PM Netanyahu to hold security meeting with Israeli officials 🚨
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a security consultation with senior officials at 10:30pm local time (19:30 GMT), as the military continues to attack Lebanon while moving north against Hezbollah.
The meeting comes during US-Iran peace negotiations, with a key Iranian demand being an immediate Israeli halt to its attacks on Lebanon.
Netanyahu and his top officials have vowed to disarm and destroy Hezbollah, which continues to attack northern Israel with invading forces.
Iran warns vessels to follow Hormuz rules – or face consequences 🚨
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has reasserted Tehran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, warning commercial and military vessels to comply with regulations governing passage through the strategic waterway.
In a statement reported on Iranian media, the command said: “The management of the Strait of Hormuz is exercised with full authority by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran”.
“All ships, commercial vessels, and tankers are only required to travel through the designated routes and obtain permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy. Any violation of these regulations will seriously jeopardise the security of their traffic.”
Iran also issued a warning to foreign military forces operating in the area, saying any attempt to interfere with maritime management or shipping movements would trigger a response.
US military attacks Iran-bound ship with Hellfire missile 🚨
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) says forces have “disabled” a Gambia-flagged ship attempting to sail towards an Iranian port.
Posting on X, CENTCOM said forces “observed M/V Lian Star transiting international waters toward an Iranian port on the Gulf of Oman and issued more than 20 warnings while informing the vessel it was in violation of the US blockade”.
“A US aircraft disabled the vessel by firing a Hellfire missile into the ship’s engine room after Lian Star’s crew failed to comply. The ship is no longer transiting to Iran.”
US forces have disabled five commercial vessels and redirected 116 to fully enforce the blockade, CENTCOM said.
