Iran is set to approve a plan for sovereign control over the Hormuz Strait, according to Salimi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's presidium. According to Odaily, the plan is expected to be passed as a permanent law. The Iranian Students' News Agency reported that Salimi stated only Iran and Oman have the authority to decide on the management of the Hormuz Strait. Iran has initiated communication with Oman, which has expressed preliminary agreement, and the plan is expected to be finalized soon.
