NFTs are not dead. Lazy NFT ideas are dead.
A picture alone is not enough anymore.
The better question is what the NFT actually unlocks. Access, identity, membership, gaming assets, creator rights, tickets, rewards — if ownership has a real use case, NFTs still make sense.
