I’ve been looking at OpenGradient lately, and it feels like they’re trying to push AI infra in a more open direction than most projects I’ve seen.

The idea of hosting, running inference, and verifying AI models in a decentralized setup sounds simple on paper, but the real value is in that verification layer.

If outputs can actually be checked without trusting a single provider, that changes how AI systems get used in real environments.

I’m not fully sold on how smooth it’ll be in practice—latency and coordination are always tricky—but the direction makes sense.

If they manage to keep it usable while staying transparent, it could become a serious piece of decentralized AI infrastructure rather than just another experiment.
