Walrus has raised $140M, is worth 2B, and is a creation of Mysten Labs with one objective: make decentralized storage faster, less expensive, and able to be used in practice. It is not easy to compete with Filecoin and Arweave, yet actual competition is good, given the fact that the number of people who require dependable on-chain storage continues to increase.
Since additional applications, games, and AI systems require decentralized storage scaling, a project such as Walrus does not have to sell a story- it is necessary.
Slowly the infrastructure tends to win. And when it wins, it stays.
