According to AP, Rodriguez has been an object of interest of the Anti Dr@g Administration since 2018, and in 2022 it was designated as a "priority goal" - status for persons with alleged significant influence on drug trafficking. The materials mention suspicions of involvement in drug trafficking, money laundering and gold smuggling, as well as connections with Maduro's entourage.
At the same time, the United States did not bring public charges against her.
After the capture of Maduro by the American military on January 3 and the appointment of Rodriguez as acting head of state, she initially rejected Trump's proposals for cooperation, but after threats from Washington, she changed her position and declared her readiness for negotiations.
