Binance Research Institute: Record US Treasury Issuance May Intensify Macro Pressures on the Crypto Market
The Binance Research Institute released a report titled 'US Treasury Supply at a Record High in 2025 – Impacts on the Macroeconomy and Cryptocurrency', indicating that the US Treasury plans to issue up to $31 trillion in Treasury bonds in 2025, equivalent to 109% of the expected GDP and 144% of the M2 money supply, marking the highest level in history. The report states that foreign investors currently hold about one-third of US debt, and if demand declines, it may further increase financing costs and pose structural pressure on risk assets.
Binance Research Institute noted that while the market has eased somewhat in the short term due to warming expectations in trade negotiations, this round of Treasury expansion may continue to exert pressure on risk assets, including crypto assets. If the government shifts to a path of debt monetization, such as expanding the balance sheet to cover deficits, it may reinforce the logic of using hard assets like Bitcoin as a hedge against currency depreciation; overall macro changes are worth close attention.
