Elon Musk announced that he will create a new political party in the United States, just weeks after publicly falling out with the American president, Donald Trump.
The technology magnate announced on his social media platform X that he had created a party called America Party, which is formed to "give you back your freedom," Musk wrote on Saturday.
Musk said that the party would challenge the bipartisan Republican and Democratic system. It is not clear if the America Party has been formally registered with the electoral authorities, but Musk said it would be launched "next year".
The initiative comes after, on July 4, he asked his followers if he should create a political party.
