#TrumpTariffs Donald Trump promised on Tuesday to further intensify his trade wars, threatening with U.S. tariffs of up to 200% on foreign medications and 50% on copper, amid widespread confusion regarding his changing plans.
Hours after saying that his latest deadline for a new wave of elevated tariffs "was not 100% firm," the U.S. president declared that "no extensions" would be granted beyond August 1.
"There has been no change in this date and there will be no change," Trump wrote on social media, a day after signing an executive order that changed the date from July 9.
