WisdomTree, an asset manager with over 130 billion dollars, has launched its first tokenized private credit fund, called the Private Credit and Alternative Income Digital Fund (CRDT).
This fund offers retail and institutional investors a simple and transparent way to invest in private credit, a market usually reserved for large institutions.
Tokenization transforms the ownership of the fund into digital tokens registered on the ETHEREUM and STELLAR blockchains, allowing investments starting from just 25 dollars and quick redemptions (within 2 days).
The fund replicates an index of 35 closed-end funds, business development companies, and real estate funds, expanding access to a traditionally illiquid and inaccessible sector, bringing traditional and digital finance closer together.
It is an important step towards the democratization of investments in alternative assets, with advantages such as greater transparency, lower costs, and higher liquidity.
