The BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) token burn program is structured in three operational levels, each with specific schedules and triggers:
1. Scheduled Annual Burn
The most predictable event on the BTTC calendar is the commemorative annual burn.
* Start date: It takes place every July 2.
* Reason: Commemorates the anniversary of the creation of the original BitTorrent protocol in 2001. This burn is automated through smart contracts and has a symbolic but constant character within the BTTC DAO roadmap.
2. Massive Burns by Stages
In addition to the annual cycle, the team conducts large-scale burns linked to ecosystem milestones.
* Recent Milestone: On August 10, 2025, one of the largest recorded burns was completed, removing over 575 billion BTTC tokens (approximately 58% of the circulating supply at that time).

* Future Plans: There is an official plan and community proposals to burn an additional total of 3 trillion tokens in future phases. Although there is no single start date for this total block, these operations are expected to be activated in conjunction with strategic launches, such as new DeFi integrations or network updates during 2026.
3. Ongoing Deflationary Mechanisms
There are automatic processes that are already active and do not depend on a single start date:
* Network Fee Burn: Similar to the Ethereum model, a portion of the transaction fees generated on the BTTC network is automatically burned in each block.[1]
* "Black Hole" Wallet: This inaccessible wallet continuously and permanently receives tokens throughout the year, ensuring that the supply is inherently deflationary.
In summary, the next major scheduled milestone is the annual burn on July 2, 2026, while additional burns from the package of 3 trillion tokens will be announced as the ecosystem roadmap goals are met.
