There are quite a few opportunities from this news, guys

DriftProtocol has officially announced its Relaunch plan and compensation for users with backing from Tether committing $127.5 million and other partners like Solana Foundation with around $20 million.

Some related information includes:

1⃣ $100 million will be in the form of credit loans and in the future Drift Protocol must use its revenue to pay it back gradually.

2⃣ A part of the support package will be used to incentivize users to return to using the Drift Protocol and develop the ecosystem.

Clearly, in the recent downturn, not only Drift was affected, but dozens of protocols built on Drift were impacted as well.

3⃣ A portion of the support package will be in the form of loans for market makers to provide liquidity, ensuring smooth operations for users.

4⃣ After the relaunch, Drift will transition from $USDC to $USDT as the primary settlement asset.

It seems that Circle's lack of support for Drift has unintentionally opened a door for Tether. Whether this trade is good or not will require more time to see the results.

5⃣ Drift will issue a Recovery Token for affected users on April 1, 2026, with the following characteristics:

- This token is transferable, meaning users can sell their Drift debt to others.

- Represents the right to compensation, assets to be compensated in the future.

- The Recovery Pool will be sourced from project revenues, support packages above, or funds recovered from hackers.

6⃣ The Drift Protocol will only relaunch after a comprehensive audit from Ottersec and Asymmetric Research.

Looking at this event, I can observe some relatively clear opportunities like:

1⃣ IF TETHER & SOLANA FOUNDATION BET ON THE REVIVAL OF DRIFT IN THE FUTURE, then certain opportunities will arise such as:

- $DRIFT is currently trading at $0.5, while the price before the crash was $0.7; in my opinion, this opportunity isn't that great.

- The Recovery Token seems to present a brighter opportunity as many will decide to sell off to recover whatever they can.

For example: a seller's Recovery Token guaranteed $10K that was lost; this person could sell off 50-60% to recover some funds immediately.

The higher the discount at which you can buy Recovery Tokens, the greater the future profits. However, you must bet on Drift's revival because I believe the Recovery Pool will mainly come from project revenues.

2⃣ THIS EVENT REMINDS ME OF HOW JUMP SAVED WORMHOLE IN THE PAST, as they had to spend a significant amount of money back then, so later they sought to recover their funds through the $W token.

- That's the reason why $W keeps declining, endlessly.

Looking at Drift's revenue, according to DeFiLlama, the annual average is $3.5 million, meaning TETHER NEEDS 36 YEARS OF DRIFT REVENUE TO BREAK EVEN, which is utterly absurd.

- Tether seems to have ambitions for something greater from Drift, like revenues needing to grow exponentially or some game to quickly recover funds within a few years, possibly in the next cycle.

This event isn't 100% identical because the path to recover funds through Drift's revenues is relatively clear, but I still think it should be noted for future opportunities with Drift if they arise.
