Woken up by fans crying at 3 AM! 6000U full position liquidation
At three in the morning, my phone buzzed non-stop. Upon answering the video call, the female fan from Zhejiang had red eyes:
Brother Feng, my 6000U account has been liquidated…. I had a full position with more than 5 times leverage, and it retraced just 3 points, how could it just be gone?
I asked her to send the trading records — indeed, she had bet the full 5800U without even setting a stop loss.
Many people mistakenly believe that “full position = quick profits,” but the truth is quite the opposite:
A full position is like a car without brakes; if the direction is wrong, it immediately goes to zero. The key to liquidation is often not the leverage multiple, but the weight of the position.
For example: with an 800U account, if you use 750U for a full position at 5 times leverage, a reverse fluctuation of 6% will lead to liquidation;
However, if you only use 75U for 5 times leverage, it would take an 86.7% fluctuation to lose everything — the risk tolerance is nearly 12 times worse.
She risked 96.7% of her principal; with 5 times leverage, a small retracement was simply unbearable.
This year, I’ve fallen into many pits, and I’ve also summarized three “full position survival rules.” Not only did I not lose principal, but my account steadily grew by nearly 80%:
1. Use only 7% of total capital per trade.
For example, with a 6000U account, the maximum for a single trade is 420U. Even if a 7% stop loss is triggered, the loss would only be 29.4U, which doesn’t affect the overall situation. 2. Single trade losses should not exceed 1.1% of total capital.
For instance, with a 420U position at 5 times leverage, if a 1% stop loss line is set in advance, the actual loss of 8.4U is approximately 1.1% of total capital, decisively cutting losses without deep entrapment. 3. Be vague and keep a clear position in uncertain markets.
Don’t increase your bets due to profits; wait for the trend to clarify — for example, only enter when the daily line breaks a key level with volume support.
Previously, there was a fan who liquidated every month; after using these three rules, he increased from 3200U to 55000U in four months.
He said: “I used to think a full position was a gamble on life, but now I understand that a true full position is to live longer.” No longer walking alone in the dark, I have lit a lamp for you. The light is on, will you come?
