Compared to the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, China's new energy storage installed capacity has surged by over 3000%
According to Jinshi Data on November 15, data shows that by the end of September 2025, China's new energy storage installed capacity will exceed 100 million kilowatts, an increase of more than 30 times compared to the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, accounting for over 40% of the global total installed capacity, ranking first in the world. It is reported that some power generation companies' energy storage system orders are scheduled for next year. Data shows that in the first half of 2025, Chinese energy storage companies added overseas orders of 163 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 246%. Against the backdrop of accelerated global energy transition, Chinese energy storage companies are experiencing a concentrated outbreak in overseas markets. Experts say that the core driving force behind this round of accelerated energy storage 'going abroad' is the speeding up of global energy transition. On one hand, emerging markets are accelerating their energy storage layout under policy promotion; on the other hand, geopolitical factors have led to unstable electricity supply or high energy acquisition costs in some countries, resulting in a rapid rise in energy storage demand. The head of a Beijing-based energy storage system manufacturing company revealed that since the beginning of this year, demand in some markets in Europe and North America has increased by 3 to 5 times.
