At first glance, Suilend might easily be mistaken as just a 'lending app on Sui'.
But after diving into the docs, I realized its scope is actually much broader: Sui's DeFi Suite. This suite includes lending, SpringSui LST, and STEAMM AMM. It's designed to handle a wider range than just a single lending pool, incorporating the entire lifecycle of assets being borrowed, staked, and utilized for liquidity within the ecosystem—all mapped out in one diagram.
The Suilend docs are pretty straightforward, stating it's one of the largest lending protocols on Sui, built by the same team behind Solana.
This suite approach has another advantage: it makes it easier for users to stay within the same protocol. Lending assets, acquiring LST, and then hitting the AMM for liquidity—if the experience is seamless, funds will naturally circulate within the ecosystem.
So for the Suilend project, I'm eager to see if it can really integrate lending, LST, and AMM into practical use cases. That’s more insightful than just looking at the floating yields of a specific USDC pool; it’s closer to the long-term vision of the protocol itself.
