Half a year on Binance Road, from a novice to holding my own starlight
On that weekend six months ago, I sat in front of my desk in a rented room, my fingers repeatedly refreshing the cryptocurrency news, feeling both anxious and restless. As a worker who had just struggled in the job market for two years, after deducting rent and daily expenses from my fixed salary, I could hardly save any money. Watching my friends make a small profit through investments, I wanted to try it too, but I couldn't even understand the basics of K-line charts.
When my friend sent me the link to Binance, I still had some doubts: "Is this platform reliable?" He simply replied, "You see for yourself." At the moment I downloaded the app, the interface filled with various cryptocurrencies and the fluctuating red and green numbers almost discouraged me. I hesitated for a few days, repeatedly reading terms like "spot" and "contract" dozens of times, even took a small notebook to take notes, seriously studying it like I did in school.
My first trade was buying 100U of a project led by Tencent; the moment I hit the "buy" button, my palms were sweaty. The entire night, I opened the app almost every ten minutes to take a look; when it rose by 5U, I was as happy as if I had won a prize, and when it dropped by 3U, I was extremely anxious. Looking back now, that little fluctuation was insignificant in the crypto world, but at that time, it felt monumental to me.
Three months in, I encountered a small market fluctuation, and the altcoins I held suddenly dropped by nearly 40%. In the heat of the moment, I almost "cut my losses" and exited, but thankfully I remembered a saying I saw in the community: "Newbies shouldn't be led by short-term fluctuations; holding valuable assets is the key." I gritted my teeth and held on, and a week later not only did I break even, but I also made a small profit. That was the first time I understood that the crypto world isn't about luck, but about knowledge and mindset.
From initially investing 100U with trepidation to now being able to calmly plan my small positions, Binance is not only my window into cryptocurrency but also like a "teacher" that has grown with me. I know I am still just a beginner, and there is much more to learn in the future, but this half-year experience has made me believe that if I take my time, I will eventually hold my own beam of starlight. And Binance will be my most reliable companion on this journey.
