Binance suspended an employee after discovering that the individual was promoting the launch of a memecoin they helped create through one of the company's official X accounts. This decision came after the internal audit team received several reports that prompted an immediate investigation.

In an initial statement via the Binance Futures account on Monday (12/8/2025), the company confirmed that the employee was involved in the issuance of an on-chain token that was later promoted using similar text and images through the official account @BinanceFutures less than a minute after the token was released. Binance deemed this action as an abuse of position for personal gain and a violation of the company's code of ethics.

The token under investigation is Year of the Yellow Fruit, a memecoin launched through the Four.Meme launchpad on the BNB Chain. According to DEXScreener data, the market capitalization of this token briefly approached US$4 million before rising again to US$6 million, with trading volume exceeding US$16 million.
