Bianchi, a cryptocurrency wallet recovery specialist, stated on June 16 that a Bitcoin Core wallet with 16.5 BTC (around USD 1,072,500 at current prices) locked since 2013 was recovered after more than a year of an open call, following the identification of the password that encrypted the funds by an external collaborator.
📣 The solution came in less than five days after Bianchi expanded the call to Reddit and Xs, after a year without results on Facebook. The collaborator who solved the case was not part of the Telegram group set up to coordinate the attempts; Bianchi did not reveal their identity or the method used.
🥇 For the recovery, Bianchi rewarded this person with 0.5 BTC (about $USDC 32,500).
