From 50,000 U to zero, I exchanged blood and tears for three life-saving rules
That night, the liquidation notification that popped up on my phone left me feeling cold all over. A long position in SOL with 20x leverage evaporated a full 50,000 U in a ten-minute waterfall. After finishing half a pack of cigarettes, I finally woke up: the liquidation had long been warned, but I chose greed myself.
Only after suffering significant losses did I realize: what most retail investors truly lack is not technique.
Reviewing all my trading records, I found myself repeatedly falling into three deadly traps:
1. Believing in various complex indicators while ignoring core signals like whale transfers and net inflows of stablecoins
2. Treating high leverage as a money printer, but instead constantly contributing fees to the exchange
3. Emotion-driven trading: holding on when prices fall and wanting to run away when they rise slightly
In three months, I rolled my remaining 3,000 U back to 20,000 U. It wasn't luck; it was these three rules etched into my DNA:
① Leverage must always be ≤ 1% of the principal
For a 10,000 U account, the maximum position size is 100 U.
Set a hard stop loss at 3%, even if I experience 10 consecutive stop losses, the principal only loses 3%.
② Only watch two real indicators
The exchange's stablecoin reserves (USDT/USDC continuous inflow = real buying pressure)
Whale wallet movements (manually tracking the transaction behavior of the Top 100 addresses)
③ Profits must be regularly taken
Every time I earn 20% of the principal, I immediately withdraw 10% to a cold wallet.
This rule made me completely say goodbye to the nightmare of profit retracement.
Now, I still miss opportunities and incur small losses, but I will never go to zero again. 90% of people in the crypto world are destined to be harvested; what we need to do is not to become gods but to strive to survive.
