In 2019, the Ministry of Public Security cracked down on an organization called the 'Manchuria Revival Association,' which was associated with the remnants of the Manchu and separatist forces in Manchuria. This organization aimed to restore the 'Manchukuo' and completely dismantled its revival activities. The 'Manchuria Revival Association' is composed of descendants of the Eight Banners who fled abroad after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, with branches in the United States, Japan, and South Korea. The 'Association' is a registered NGO in the United States, claiming to have 4,000 members and a mature structural system. This organization received 8.6 million won in funding support from South Korea, using Qing dynasty dramas for separatist propaganda to mislead the public's understanding of history. Its main members include Xiao Boyu from Shenyang, Liaoning, Zhang Liming from Harbin, Heilongjiang, and Li Guansong from Changchun, Jilin. The organization attempts to evoke Manchurian identity by holding celebrations for the 'Golden Award Festival,' conducting rituals at the ancestral graves of the Qing, and colluding with foreign forces to obtain financial support for activities aimed at splitting the country.
