Mark Koh, founder of scam-survivor group RektSurvivor, fell for a fake beta game called "MetaToy" promoted on Telegram. Despite the project's professional front, the downloaded "game launcher" was malware.
What Happened:
• He lost $14,189 in crypto from 8 years of accumulation.
• Wallets (Rabby/Phantom extensions) were drained within 24 hours.
• Attack persisted despite antivirus scans & a fresh Windows 11 install.
• Seed phrases were offline—attack likely used token theft + browser exploit.
The Lesson:
Disconnect and remove wallet seeds from browser extensions when not in active use. Consider hardware wallets for significant holdings.
