ChainCatcher news, according to market reports, the police in São Paulo, Brazil, successfully arrested 8 suspects in a large-scale operation code-named "Operation Cryptonita" for allegedly robbing Bitcoin, while 1 person remains at large.

According to the investigation, the victim revealed to a worker that he had invested in Bitcoin during office renovations, and subsequently, in November 2024, was robbed at gunpoint by an armed gang. The criminal gang forced the victim to transfer Bitcoin worth approximately $54,000 within about an hour, and stole a truck, mobile phone, and laptop worth $36,200. The police tracked digital transactions and discovered that the suspects created shell companies for money laundering, most of the suspects have criminal records and are connected to the construction industry.
