🇨🇳 End of Monopoly: China has created its own EUV Lithography for Top Chips!
China has officially challenged the technological dominance of the USA. According to Reuters, the assembly of a prototype for extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) — the 'holy grail' in the production of the most powerful processors — has been completed in Shenzhen.
⚙️ Why is this critically important?
A blow to ASML's monopoly: Until now, only the Dutch company ASML owned this technology. The price of one machine is about $250 million. Without them, it is impossible to create chips for Nvidia, Apple, or AMD.
China’s 'Manhattan Project': The import substitution program lasted 6 years under the coordination of Huawei. The goal is to completely exclude the USA from the supply chains.
Timeline: The prototype is already generating EUV radiation. Mass production of chips is scheduled for 2028–2030.
