Stephen Miran, the Governor of the Federal Reserve, clarified a critical matter that goes far beyond stablecoins. 👀
People around the world want to access dollars, but many cannot reach them through banks. Stablecoins solve this problem on a large scale. And when demand increases, the funds do not dissipate into cryptocurrency speculation.
Instead, they flow directly into U.S. Treasury bonds and reserves.
Miran compared this situation to the global savings surplus that kept #U.S._interest_rates low for years. It is estimated that stablecoins can recreate nearly a third of this effect. This is not a limited outcome, but rather total liquidity.
Low structural interest rates are important because liquidity always finds its way into scarce assets like cryptocurrencies.
Our field is no longer seen as marginal; it is now discussed as an integral part of the financial system. Thus, the adoption of these currencies becomes inevitable.
